Hey, I know you like playing games. But there are some sites that just aren't appropriate for school. Here's a site that allows you to impress your teachers and parents by playing games that are related to books that you've read.....or maybe even would like to read.
I tried a few myself, and they're really easy to get the hang of. Let me know what you think! Click here: http://www.scholastic.com/kids/stacks/games/
A few of my favorites were Holes and Keys to the Kingdom. Happy gaming!

Week 2 - Current Events At Your Fingertips!
Have you ever wished you could get a picture from the paper to use in your document? Ever wanted to read the paper, but you just couldn't find one? Have I got an easy solution for you!
Check out the "Electronic Edition" of the Quad-City Times! Just go to http://ee.qctimes.com and enter the sample user name and password that I give you. You'll have access to today's paper, as well as previous editions.
Today, we'll spend some time learning how to access the electronic version of the paper, view different sections, and copy information from the paper for use in class projects. (Just make sure you cite your source with proper MLA formatting - otherwise your work might be considered plagiarism!)
How to cite an article used from the paper:
"The daily pothole report is back.
Coming on the heels of his letter last week
urging Davenport’s public works crews to
put all available resources into pothole
repair,Mayor Bill Gluba once again is asking
for a daily tally of how the work is progress-
ing."
Brecht, Tory. "Gluba Revives Pothole Report." Quad-City Times [Davenport, IA] 23 Feb. 2011: B1. Print.

Our First Wednesday!
Today we will introduce our Wednesday blog, make sure you are in the right place, and explain our procedures. Our time will be quick, but I hope you will enjoy the activities I have planned!
Each time you enter the room for Wednesday WoW, you will:
1) Get a pair of headphones
2) Sit at your assigned computer
3) Log on as "smartstudent"
4) Occupy yourself quietly until I start the lesson
I am really looking forward to sharing some neat things with you. Because our time is so short, I thank you in advance for your cooperation and attention!
Have a great day!
